This is the last doll in a series of 12. I love the fox face. It is called Beesh ligaii ma-e (Sterling Fox, Navajo). This doll took extra long to bead as I used brick stitch for the entire piece. It has a Southwestern feel and features coral & turquoise in it.
A big woo hoo for the last butterfly of the year. I used a stitch that gives the butterfly lots of texture. The next challenge is to bind all 12 butterflies into a book format.
This is titled "Snake in the Grass". The pouch is done in brick stitch with Paua swirl on the front. There is a squiggle fringe and square stitch strap. On the strap is the snake with some leaves hanging from it.
Art Unraveled is over for the year and this is one of the books we made. It is a star book with tree cutouts and pop ups. It was a hard feat cutting the trees out!
I really enjoyed the first cuff I made and since I was "warmed up" continued in my cuff quest. This one is named Victoria's Secrets as there is a lock on her brain. The face is from ERA Graphics. I enjoy purple and the face is royal with the selection of this color. Size 11 and 8 seed beads, hex, wire, Delicas and size 4 squares were used. I also peyoted the squares several times to give the piece dimension. What fun. Another magnetic closure and leather backing finishes the piece.
Meet Ms. Indy Pendance in her red, white and blue seed beads. A little star is in her chest and she hold a beaded sparkler. She is done in bead embroidery.
Mr friend, Cork gave me the little toad and that's what started all this. I named it Toadstoy's Treasures. It is named after a little toad that moved into our backyard last year. The cuff has size 11 and 8 seed beads, Delicas, fused glass cabs, keishi pearls and leaves. It closes with a magnetic clasp and is lined with deer leather.
Buddha's Hope. A 6" bead embroidered doll done in the theme colors of red, black and gold. So serene. On the bottom of Buddha is the symbol of Yin & Yang.
