Wherever I have lived, I have not had the good fortune of experiencing the change of color in leaves. I am making my own beaded versions and will be binding the collection into a book. I used bead embroidery and netting stitch on top of upholstery fabric. The fabric is backed with treated, textured and painted watercolor paper made to simulate a leaf look. All leaves will measure 5-1/2x6-1/2". This is the first of 5.

Hi Victoria,
Your new pieces are gorgeous!
I'm in love with this leaf. What a gorgeous effect you achieved by using a mix of bead embroidery and netting! It's amazing!
The black set is my second favorite, but I also like the butterfly, the bracelet and the dollie. :-)
Hugs,
Saby
PS: Am I good or what? First comment on your blog and I mess it up! LOL
I needed to edit it, not delete it! ;-)
I just wanted to add that I'm sorry about the demise of the poor Otto.
This leave is exquisite! I can't wait to see more. The netting technique is amazing. I live in the northeast and never take for granted the spectacular fall foliage. It's so neat how you are capturing that essence in your beaded leaves.
Oh for heaven's sake! I suppose I should re-read my comment before posting it - Sorry about the misspelling of Leaf!!!! :)
how beautiful - I love the concept and can't wait to see the rest of the project!
Love this leaf Victoria!!
BTW I have tagged you for a meme, check out my blog
Hi Victoria, You have been tagged by me as someone i would like to know more about. Please see my blog for details. Thanks!
I've tried to put a comment on before and something happened! So here I again trying to let you know how much I love this leaf! The texture and simplicity is so amazing!
Can I borrow the idea? I would love to try this one one of my Goddess dresses, I think I would do it over beads, so one layer of bead embroidery and then one of this netting.
Oh, the wheels are turning!
I hope you don't mind me trying it out.
Cheers, Denise
